The year is 1885. Russia is ruled by a tyrannical emperor known as the Iron Tsar. The Tsar is obsessed with technology and power, and he has created a vast army of mechanical soldiers to enforce his rule. A young woman named Anya is a brilliant engineer who dreams of creating a better world. She believes that technology can be used to liberate people, not oppress them. When she witnesses the atrocities committed by the Tsar's soldiers, she decides to use her skills to fight for change.  Anya joins a group of rebels who are opposed to the Tsar. The rebels are led by a mysterious figure known as the Firebird, a powerful sorceress.
